THE JOURNEY

Penny Blossom Pig has has quite the life's journey. Rescued neonate piglet, sanctuary resident, and healthcare patient are some ways to describe her, but 'maker of friends', 'sun goddess extraordinaire', and 'fresh snacks lover' are how she might define herself.

Along the journey senior pig Penny Blossom needed more health care, with skin cancer on her fair skin. Photos after treatments at Cornell's Nemo Farm Animal Hospital show how we can help our friends.

One health woe that larger sanctuary farm pigs encounter can be hoof issues and arthritis. Penny had a hoof infection that spread deeper to the bone, and to stop the spread of osteomyelitis, she had one front toe amputated this year.

Once that healed after 60 days at Cornell, Penny came home to hang with her friends, a lot of sunscreen, and the best fresh snacks possible! You make all this possible: our many supporters, friends and donors - making it possible for Penny Blossom and her friends to live their best lives in peace.
