Girl Scout Programs

Unity Farm Sanctuary offers opportunities for Girl Scouts of all levels to earn badges and / or complete journeys through participation in workshops led by a Certified Humane Education Specialist onsite at our sanctuary.  Workshops are approximately 90 minutes long and allow for two hours onsite; which includes time to meet our beloved rescues.  Activities are designed to satisfy individual badge or journey requirements, while scouts also learn about kindness to farm animals in an environment of inclusion and connection.

LEAP (Leaders for Ethics, Animals, and the Planet)

From September through May one Saturday per month, 9th to 12th grade students and their peers will meet at the sanctuary to participate in a Humane Education curriculum and care for rescued farmed animals.  LEAPers will also complete 32 hours of service over the course of the program, including projects that will improve the lives of farmed animals, people and the planet.

LEAP will prepare the next generation of leaders to transform our food systems, advocate for animal welfare and human rights, tackle the challenges of food deserts and diet-related diseases, and lead the way in climate solutions, sustainability, and wildlife conservation.

LEAP empowers young people, teaching them that empathy for others is a strength, not a weakness. With humanity at a major crossroads, there’s no better time for our youth to leap forward into a more compassionate and forward-thinking society.
