SANCTUARY PROGRAMS

In addition to our on-site and virtual tours, we are also in the process of launching some exciting new programs and events. See below for our latest offerings, and follow the links to register for a program!

Unity Animal Care Club

Calling all farm animal lovers ages 10-14!

Join us for Unity Animal Care Club, a hands-on opportunity to work on your animal care skills and learn more about rescued farm animals. Each week, we will learn skills such as safety around farm animals, cleaning pens and stalls, grooming, feeding, and socializing with the animals—all with an educational component that teaches about the lives and stories of our amazing farm animal residents. Participants will be supervised by staff and volunteers at all times.

After a successful first season of Animal Care Club in Fall 2020, we look forward to offering this on-site program again in Spring 2021!

Please email us to get on the waitlist for future sessions.

Building a Kinder World for Animals:

An Introduction to Animal Welfare & Ethics for Middle Schoolers

Are you a budding animal advocate in Grades 5-8?

Join us for this exciting new program exploring current animal welfare topics! With the help of Unity's animal residents, we will learn about issues such as using animals for food, fur, fibers, and feathers; for medical, cosmetic, and industrial testing; and for work and entertainment. Our goal is to educate young people and empower them to make more compassionate and ethical decisions, while learning how to advocate effectively for animals everywhere! Successful completion will allow students to take part in future junior conversations in animal welfare at the sanctuary.

After a successful first session in September 2020, we look forward to offering this on-site program again in Spring 2021!

Art with the Animals

Join us for Art with the Animals--a uniquely fun outdoor painting experience! A professional artist will select one of our rescued farm animal residents for us to paint and guide us step-by-step through the painting process. A perfect opportunity for aspiring artists of all levels (beginners included!) to learn new skills, all while taking in the sights and sounds of the sanctuary!

All instructions and supplies provided, including acrylic paints, a canvas, and easel. We have separate sessions for different age groups. Adults/teens (ages 13+) sessions cost $40 and kids (ages 8-12) sessions cost $35.*

This program is sponsored in part by a grant from the Sherborn Arts Council.

*For those needing financial assistance, please contact us about full and partial scholarships.
