NANAH GOAT

Nanah Goat just finished driving her motorcycle to Cornell's Vet Hospital, where she is checking in for her SPA treatment. Oh, wait, I think they said SPAY treatment?

Ok, she did NOT drive herself.

Nanah Goat took a trip to Cornell with Shelter Manager Tye and his wife Ann, (our Administrative miracle worker and Store Manager) for an important medical issue.

This is a pre-planned trip, not an emergency. Nanah has some persistent issues that began last summer. She is an older goat, middle aged to senior. In the summer she had enlarged teats (of course not pregnant) that did decrease. But in the fall, she began to exhibit a pretty relentless behavior pattern - abnormally acting out as a fertile male goat type behavior! She received the medication based treatment for cystic ovaries, but that is only effective about 70% of the time, and her behavior did not change.

So....Miss Nanah went to Cornell for a spay appointment! All her goat buddies are hoping this solves her issues!

(Our male goats are all neutered, but female goat spay is saved for medical risk reasons)

She did wonderfully during and after her procedure, with a great recovery on a moderate amount of pain relief. The tissue removed in the spay will be analyzed by the lab to help us understand everything that might be going on medically with Nanah.
