ZOOOOMING DUDLEYFEST KICKS OFF ANNUAL UNITY FUNDRAISER

Kathy Halamka

Our annual celebration of all things Dudley went virtual this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But that didn't stop our staff, animal residents, and virtual party-goers from having a fantastic day!

DudleyFest also marked the kick-off to one of our biggest annual fundraisers. If you are able to give, we would be most grateful for your support -- any amount is appreciated and will go directly to caring for Dudley and the over 200 rescued farm animals that call Unity home. Shares on social media are equally helpful for getting the word out! (CLICK HERE TO DONATE)

See below for a recap of this wonderful celebration!

It was a perfect day for kicking off our birthday celebration for Dudley! The sky was clear and dotted with clouds and the temperature warm with a light breeze. This year's celebration was a bit different, though, as our usual 100+ guests had to Zoom in for the festivities due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

On-site were Kathy and John Halamka, Unity staff, and Dudley's "dad" David Wirbal, the kind man from New Hampshire who rescued Dudley and brought him to his forever home. Everyone got in the festive spirit, donning birthday hats and shiny beaded necklaces, to sing to our 2000-pound "grass puppy," wishing him well for many years to come.

A banana and apple "cake" in the shape of the number "5" was presented to the bovine-of-the-hour and secretly shared with his BFFs Audrey, Elliot, Pal, Bob, and Wallace.

A special appearance was made by Winston Lambert III, Unity's newest resident. Dudley was impressed by the fact that this little Jacob lamb will have FOUR horns when he grows up. Duds promised to take little Winston under his wing as he settles into his new forever home.

There was one party crasher, however! Palmer the turkey felt that if he couldn't have his own party, then he would have to steal the show at Dudley's celebration.

Meanwhile, on Zoom, there was singing, trivia, dancing, feeding treats, and more! Music was generously provided by the ever-talented Brady Wells, who entertained all on Zoom and at Unity throughout the afternoon.

The event also marked the kick-off of one of Unity's annual fundraisers. This year, we are aiming to raise the funds needed to feed Dudley for a whole year! Please consider helping if you can, and sharing the links with others. In these trying days of Covid-19, non-profits need help more than ever. (CLICK HERE TO DONATE)
