WORDS ARE IMPORTANT

We do the best we can, for as many as we can. We are not perfect, but strive to improve the Sanctuary every day. It is important to speak with compassion, using words that are meaningful, and true.
We focus on humane education, to have the chance to have a positive impact on more animals, and the planet, and people. This is how we can have even greater impact beyond the rescues living here at the Sanctuary. It is with gratitude that we are able to offer our humane education programs without cost to the community
Words are important: animals are never called “it” here, they are not "things". Each one is an aware, living being with the desire to live a good life, just like we want that. Words are important: whether used to empower positive solutions for our farmed animal rescues, for the community, or for the planet.

Here is your call to action!
Get involved and be a part of the solutions here and beyond. If you are not located nearby there are many ways to support the mission! Our onsite Volunteers are vital here, in their teamwork with the animal caregiving staff. Our donors make this all possible. Our Board of Directors are all-volunteer and they help guide the Sanctuary into the future. Our new volunteer Sanctuary Council adds a new level of positive action and change.
Thank you to everyone who is a part of making "good ripple out into the world", whether you are: Board of Directors, The Sanctuary Council, Education Team, Animal Caregiver management/staff, UFS Volunteers, The Sanctuary Circle, The Sanctuary Legacy Society or parents and "Seekers" at The Sanctuary Forest School. I am delighted to be on this amazing journey with you.
